Islamic Studies Teacher
Duties and Responsibilities
- Prepare lesson plans with clear objectives that follow Our’an and Sunnah
- Prepare long-range plan, unit plans, and homework materials
- Teach a full range of subject areas including Islamic mannerism, Prophet stories, salah, seerah, stories from the Quran and other thematic topics
- prepare interactive activities and/or crafts related to topics
- Supervise students during classes and at other times during school day, including breaks
- Attend staff meetings
- Discuss students’ progress and concerns with parents and administrators
- Prepare for and attend parent-teacher interviews and other functions
- Maintain appropriate standards of behavior, mutual respect, and safety within classroom
- Formal and informal ongoing assessment of students, including daily agenda recording and report cards
- Integrate social responsibility and kindness into daily teaching and routines
- Perform other related duties as required
Qualifications:
- Understanding and application of Islamic conduct
- Taleemul Quran course diploma is an asset
- Minimum 1-2 years teaching experience
- Friendly, nurturing, attentive and respectful characteristics
- Excellent interpersonal and pragmatic skills
Islamic Studies Teaching Schedule
- Wednesday: 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm
- Saturday: 9:30 am – 12:30 pm
- Sunday: 9:30 am – 12:30 pm
